FOR WOMEN STUDENTS
American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)
The
Women’s International Science Collaboration Program provides grants to
individual US scientists who plan to establish new research partnerships with
their colleagues in Central/Eastern Europe and the Newly Independent States of
the former Soviet Union.
American Association of University Women Educational Foundation
The
foundation provides grants and fellowships exclusively to graduate women
pursuing professions where women are underrepresented.
American Medical Women’s Association Foundation
Offers
female medical student members scholarships for community service, activity in
women's health issues and participation in AMWA and other women in medicine
groups.
American Physiological Society, The
Offers several different awards and fellowships to those pursuing doctoral degrees in
the physiological and biomedical sciences. Special
programs are designed for physiology educators, minorities, and women.
American Society for Engineering Education
The
Office of Naval Research sponsors a Postdoctoral Fellowship Program at a number
of Naval Research and Development centers and laboratories. Special
scholarships designed for women are also available.
American Society of Safety Engineers
Offers
scholarships for women pursuing a post-baccalaureate education in safety
engineering, safety management, occupational health nursing, occupational
medicine, risk management, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, fire safety,
environmental safety, environmental health or other safety related fields.
Offers
scholarships to reward high school seniors, who have proven academic excellence,
excelled in extracurricular activities, volunteered in community service,
developed a performing talent, and remained physically fit.
Association for Women in Science
Offers
several different internships and awards to honor the achievements of women
scientists.
Bell Laboratories and Lucent Technologies Foundation
Offer
women Graduate Research Programs that are designed to identify and develop
research ability in women and to increase female representation in science and
engineering.
Brookhaven National Laboratory
Offers
the Renate W. Chasman Scholarship for women whose education was interrupted to
continue their formal studies in science, engineering or mathematics.
Business and Professional Women’s Foundation
Offers
career advancement scholarships and financial assistance to women seeking
education to advance in their careers or to reenter the workforce.
Center for Women in Government
Offers
graduate fellowships for women pursuing careers in public policy.
Cornell University Graduate School Fellowship Notebook
A
database of fellowships, the majority from non-Cornell sources, of over 660
programs and over 65 graduate fellowships programs for women.
Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting
Offers
scholarships to women who are pursuing accounting degrees at both the
undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR)
Offers
research fellowships, graduate fellowships, and summer internships for female
students to study public policy issues of critical importance to women and
their families.
Offers
scholarships to women students pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in
accounting or an equivalent designated post-baccalaureate certificate of
accounting.
The
Microsoft Women's Technical Scholarship Program is designed to encourage women
to pursue studies in computer science and related technical disciplines.
Miss Active Teen Across America Pageant
Mail-in-pageant
competition that awards $1000 college scholarships to young women between the
ages of 13-19 for their involvement in community, school, and family.
National Hispanic Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees
The
Rene Matos Scholarship program assists minority and women students in completing
their higher education by recognizing and rewarding academically
superior performance, achievements, leadership, and community involvement.
Scholarships are available on a competitive basis to any undergraduate,
graduate, or technical/vocational student.
National Physical Science Consortium
Offers
women a doctoral graduate fellowship program in physical sciences and related
engineering fields.
Society of Manufacturing Engineers
Offers
scholarships to full-time students pursuing an undergraduate degree in manufacturing
engineering, manufacturing engineering technology, or a closely related
engineering field of study. Special scholarships for women are also available.
Offers
freshmen and graduate levels scholarships to female minority students studying
computer science or engineering. Also offers a reentry scholarship program for
women returning to engineering and computer science studies.
U. S. Federal Aviation Administration
Offers
several different scholarship and grant programs for study in aircraft
electronics and aviation fields. Also offers scholarships for women pursuing
aviation or aircraft electronics.
U. S. National Aeronautical and Space Administration WISE Program
The
Spelman Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Scholars Program offers female
students scholarships to pursue undergraduate studies in science and
engineering at Spelman College, a Historically Black College and University in
Atlanta, Georgia.
U. S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Foster Scholarship Program
Offers
the Dr. Nancy Foster Graduate Scholarships to women pursuing careers in
oceanography, marine biology, and maritime archaeology.
Offers
the HORIZONS foundation scholarship to encourage women to pursue careers
related to the national security interests of the United States and to provide
development opportunities to women already working in national security fields.
The Women’s Sport Foundation is a leading provider of grants and scholarships for female athletes of all ages.
Offers several different fellowships and scholarships annually to women pursuing graduate degrees in aerospace-related sciences and aerospace-related engineering.
