American Academy of

Offers

American Academy of
Family Physicians
Offers
several different types of awards, grants, and scholarships to practicing
residents and medical students. Also offers graduate and postgraduate funding
programs designed for minority students.
American Art Therapy Association
Scholarships to assist with the purchase of books
and other non-tuition-related expenses are awarded to minority students in the
field of art therapy.
American Association of Hispanic Certified Public Accountants
The
Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and the American Association of Hispanic
Certified Public Accountants (AAHCPA) have partnered to provide scholarships
for outstanding Latino college students pursuing degrees in accounting or
finance related fields.
American College of
Healthcare Executives
Albert W. Dent Student Scholarships are awarded to
minority students in a healthcare management program.
The
ADA Endowment Fund Program provides scholarships to students pursuing dental
and allied health careers. The ADA also sponsors a Minority Dental Scholarship
Program for underrepresented students pursuing a career in dentistry.
American Dental
Hygienists Association Minority Program
Colgate
Bright Smiles, Bright Futures Minority Scholarships are awarded to members of
minority groups underrepresented in dental hygiene programs. Such groups
include Hispanic Americans, African Americans, Asian Americans, Native
Americans, and men.
Hyatt
Hotels Fund for Minority Lodging Management Students program provides awards to
minority students pursuing degrees in the fields of hospitality, hospitality
management, and hotel management.
Scholarships
in education, science, engineering, library science, or mathematics for
first-year college students enrolled in one of the 32 tribal colleges located
across the U.S.
American Indian Graduate
Center
Offers
fellowships to qualified Native American and Alaskan Native students to pursue
graduate degrees in all fields.
American Indian Science & Engineering Society (AISES)
Scholarships are awarded to members of AISES who are American Indian or
Alaskan Native college students pursuing academic programs in the engineering,
mathematics, medicine, natural resources, or land science fields.

This
scholarship program provides awards to outstanding minority students to

The Fellowships for Minority Doctoral Students program
awards up to $12,000 in financial assistance to students who have earned a

American Nurses Association Minority Fellowship Program
A
variety of fellowships, scholarships,
and research grants are available to minority nurses.
American Philosophical Society
Offers short-term fellowships for studies in the
humanities and social sciences. The Porter Physiology Fellowships/Scholarships
are awarded to minority graduate students working on their doctoral degree in
the physiological sciences.
American Physical Society Minority Undergraduate Scholarships
Offers Corporate-Sponsored Scholarships awarded to undergraduate minority students
studying physics.
American Physical Therapy Association
Offers annual scholarships for students pursuing careers in physical therapy as a therapist or as an aide. The Promotion of Doctoral Studies (PODS) scholarships fund physical therapists that have completed one full year of doctoral course work and wish to continue their course work or have entered the dissertation phase of their education. Also offers scholarships for minority students.
American Physiological Society, The
Offers several different awards and fellowships to those pursuing doctoral degrees in
the physiological and biomedical sciences. Special
programs are designed for physiology educators, minorities, and women.
Awards
scholarships to students pursuing careers in the environmental sciences, public
administration, transportation, or urban studies and awards fellowships for
community development studies. Also has a minority
scholarship program.
American Political Science Association
Offers grants and congressional fellowships to minority students who are
political science majors entering their first year of doctoral studies in the
political science discipline.
American Press Institute (API)
The
Minority Journalism Educators Fellowship is open to college-level journalism
educators who are members of a recognized minority group.
American Psychiatric Association
Offers
minority student fellowships to provide financial support and professional
guidance to individuals pursuing doctoral degrees in psychology related to
ethnic minority mental health and treatment delivered.
American Psychological Association
Offers
several different fellowships that focus on aging, mental health, substance
abuse, and neuroscience. Also offers the Minority Fellowship Program to
individuals pursuing doctoral degrees in psychology and neuroscience.
American Society for Microbiology
Offers
fellowships to minority students to pursue careers or advanced degrees in the
microbiological sciences. Offers a summer research program limited to

The
Minority Fellowship Program is for new or continuing graduate students, with

Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation
The
foundation offers an internship program designed for young minority journalists
interested in specializing in urban public health issues and obtaining a better
understanding of the national policy-making process. Kaiser Media Fellowships
in Health are offered for print or broadcast reporters, editors, and producers
who cover health issues.
Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement
Offers
the HACE undergraduate and graduate scholarships for Hispanic professionals to
increase their knowledge in their chosen profession.
Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities
HACUs
scholarship programs target HACU-member colleges and universities. Based on the
requirements requested by the funding source, these scholarships may target
specific majors, levels of study, institutions and/or regions of the country.
Offers
scholarships and internships for Hispanic students seeking an undergraduate

Hispanic Designers Inc. Scholarships
Offers
a variety of scholarships to Hispanic students enrolled in accredited fashion

Hispanic Heritage Awards Foundation
Hispanic
achievers receive awards in five areas: Leadership, Sports, Literature,
Education and the Arts, plus a lifetime achievement award.
Hispanic Outlook Scholarship Fund
This
program awards scholarships to high school seniors planning to attend one of
the schools listed in “Publisher’s Picks” which is published, usually sometime
in November, in the Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education Magazine.

HSF is the largest Hispanic scholarship-granting organization in the nation.
Offers an array of scholarships, fellowships, internships, and grants.
INROADS/Puget Sound Texaco Scholarship
Offers
undergraduate scholarships to minority students pursuing fields of engineering,
geology, geophysics, physics, information systems, and international business.
Intel
awards renewable scholarships for women and underrepresented minority students
at a number of Intel site partner universities in the U.S. The Intel Corporation also sponsors
competitions that recognize and reward excellence in science research.
Offers
scholarships and mentoring programs to African American students pursuing
careers in community development and leadership.
The
LaGrant Foundation assist ethnic minorities in the field of advertising,
marketing and public relations by providing scholarships, educational support,
career advisement, mentors, internships and resources to African Americans,

The
La Unidad Latina Foundation Academic Scholarships are awarded to Latino

Landscape Architecture Foundation Minority Scholarship Program
Offers
scholarships to minority students entering their final two years of
undergraduate study in landscape architecture.
League of United Latin American Citizens
Offers
a variety of scholarships to minority high school seniors, undergraduates, and

Massachusetts Institute of Technology
A
special 100% scholarship-based program which is a rigorous six week residential
summer program that introduces promising minority high school juniors to
engineering, science, and entrepreneurship. The program is designed to
encourage students to pursue technical degrees and careers.
Mexican American Grocers Association Foundation Scholarship
Offers
scholarships to Hispanic students preparing for careers in sales,
merchandising, and marketing in the grocery industry.
Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund
Offers
law school scholarships to Latino students in their first, second, or third
year of law school, and communications scholarships to students pursuing a
graduate or professional degree in the field of communications, including print
and broadcast journalism or electronic communications.
The
HACER (Hispanic American Commitment to Educational Resources) Scholarships are awarded
annually to the next generation of doctors, nurses, and healthcare
professionals from minority communities.
The
foundation awards scholarships to Native American and Alaska Natives in fields
related to health care or tribal policy. Also offers summer congressional
internships.
National Association of Hispanic Journalists
Offers
scholarships to Hispanic students majoring in, or demonstrating a strong
interest in, print or broadcast journalism.
National Association of Hispanic Nurses
Nursing
scholarships are awarded to members with academic excellences that have a

National Association of School Psychologist
Offers

The
Rene Matos Scholarship program assists minority and women students in completing
their higher education by recognizing and rewarding academically
superior performance, achievements, leadership, and community involvement.

National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts
Graduate

Conducts privately financed national academic competitions for

accepted into a college, any American Indian high school senior may submit an

Population Council Minority Program
Offers
the Vietnam Fellowship Program which supports highly qualified Vietnamese
health professionals in obtaining the Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree
in the United States.
Public Relations Student Society of America
Offers

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, The
The
foundation's Minority Medical Faculty Development Program offers four-year,
postdoctoral research fellowships to minority physicians who have demonstrated

Ron Brown Scholar Program, The
Offers

University Corporation for Atmospheric Research
Offers

U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Offers

U. S. Department of Health and Human Resources
The
Office of Minority Health Resource Center maintains a database of funding
resources that can help support minority health projects and other health
related programs. The database lists private and public foundations;
pharmaceutical and insurance organizations; journal articles, directories,
books; fellowship, scholarship and internships; and federal state and community
resources. Information can be sought using a specific search format.
The
IHS has several scholarship programs available to American Indians. Offers
scholarships for students pursuing education in accounting, business administration,
computer science, or health disciplines.
U. S. National
Highway Institute HSI Program
The
Eisenhower Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) provides HSI students with
opportunities to enter careers in transportation. This fellowship program also
serves as a feeder for other Eisenhower programs. Also offers fellowships to
African American students.
U. S. National Highway Institute TCF Program
The
Eisenhower Undergraduate and Graduate Tribal Colleges Fellowships (TCF)
identify transportation-related activities for both students and faculty at
Tribal Colleges. This fellowship program also serves as a feeder for other
Eisenhower programs.
U. S. National Institute of General Medical Sciences
Offers
several different research grants and educational bridge programs to minority
students pursuing research in the medical sciences.
U. S. National Institute of Health
The
NIH is one of the world's foremost medical research centers, and the Federal
focal point for medical research in the U.S. The NIH offers undergraduate scholarships
in biomedical research as well as several other medical areas. Also offers
scholarships for minorities and students with disabilities.
U. S. National Institute of Mental Health
Offers
research grants, supplemental programs, and career development award programs
for mental health careers. Also offers awards designed for minority students.
U. S. National
Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders
Offers
minority dissertation research grants in human communications and related
studies.
World Studio Foundation Scholarships
Offers
