Academy for Educational Development
The National Security Educational Program offers
graduate fellowships to enable students to pursue specialization in the study
of languages, cultures, and world regions that are critical to U.S. national
security.
Offers graduate and doctoral fellowships to gifted
American artist and scholars to study advanced research in the fine arts and
the humanities.
Offers three broad categories of postgraduate
fellowships for creative and performing artists and writers. Offers short-term
postgraduate fellowships in American history, history of publishing, and 18th
century studies.
American Art Therapy Association
Scholarships to assist with the purchase of books
and other non-tuition-related expenses are awarded to minority students in the
field of art therapy.
American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS)
ACLS provides fellowships and grants to postgraduate
individuals so they may devote a full year to research and writing in such
fields as Literatures and Languages, History, Anthropology, Political Theory,
Philosophy, Classics, Religion, the History of Art, Linguistics, Musicology, and
the study of diverse world civilizations and cultures. Also offers a program
for research in China.
American Historical Association
The
American Historical Association will annually fund at least one Fellow, for one
academic year, to undertake a research project related to aerospace history.
The
American Library Association provides undergraduate and graduate scholarships
to students enrolled in Library Science degree programs. Also offers Century
Scholarships to students with disabilities.
American Library Association Spectrum Initiative Scholarship
Offers
graduate scholarships to minority students pursuing a Master of Library Science
degree.
American Library Information and Technology Association
Offers
minority scholarship in library and information technology for students about
to begin or pursuing their master’s degree in information science.
American-Scandinavian Foundation
The
ASF promotes international understanding through educational and cultural
exchange between the United States and Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and
Sweden in areas of art, business, and government.
American School of Classical Studies at Athens
Offers
both graduate students and scholars the opportunity to study Greek civilization
first hand, in Greece.
Association for Hispanic Theological Education
Offers
graduate scholarships to increase the presence of Latinos as faculty in
seminaries, schools of theology, and universities.
Beinecke Brothers Memorial Scholarship Program
Offers
substantial scholarships for the graduate education of young men and women of
exceptional promise pursuing careers in the arts, humanities, and social
sciences.
Broadcast Designers Association Foundation
Offers
scholarships to minority students majoring in graphic design, electronic media,
and computer studies.
The
John Carter Brown Library offers graduate fellowships for advanced research in
history and the humanities.
The
institute offers the Adelle and Erwin Tomash Graduate Fellowship in the history
of computing and information
processing.
Awards
postgraduate fellowships in byzantine studies, landscape architecture, and
pre-columbia studies.
The
Fetzer Institute's Fellows and Senior Scholars Program is open to individuals
working in a variety of backgrounds including the arts, business, education,
health care, service, and science. Offers a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in
theoretical bioelectromagnetics.
Graduate
and postdoctoral fellowships given annually to an ABD graduate student or a
postdoctoral scholar conducting research in the period 1660 to 1815.
Folger Shakespeare Library Senior Fellowships
Offers
both short and long-term fellowships for undergraduates with majors in art
history, English, history, humanities, or literature.
Offers
scholarships twice a year to university students who need to study in Rome in
order to carry out research and prepare their theses concerning Rome and the
Roman culture from the pre-Roman period to the present daytime in the classical
studies.
Offers
dissertation and postgraduate fellowships for research in American economics,
business, industry, and technological history.
Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities
HACUs
scholarship programs target HACU-member colleges and universities. Based on the
requirements requested by the funding source, these scholarships may target
specific majors, levels of study, institutions and/or regions of the country.
Hispanic Designers Inc. Scholarships
Offers
a variety of scholarships to Hispanic students enrolled in accredited fashion
design, jewelry design, interior design, costume design, apparel
manufacturing/management, marketing/merchandising, and other related programs.
Hispanic Heritage Awards Foundation
Hispanic achievers receive awards in five areas: Leadership,
Sports, Literature, Education and the Arts, plus a lifetime achievement award.
Huntington Library, Art Collection, and Botanical Gardens
Offers
several different short-term and long-term graduate and postdoctoral
fellowships.
International Furnishings and Design Association Educational Foundation
The
IFDA Educational Foundation awards merit scholarships each academic
year to full-time students. Grants are awarded in the fields of textiles,
furniture, window treatments and flooring.
Offers
scholarships for excellent students to obtain a Japanese language education.
James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation
The
Foundation offers James Madison Fellowships to a select group of individuals
desiring to become outstanding teachers of the American Constitution.
John F. Kennedy Library Foundation
Offers
several different research grants and fellowships for working with the textual
and nontextual holdings of the J.F.K. Library.
John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation
Offers
fellowships for advanced professionals in all fields of natural sciences,
social sciences, humanities, and creative arts.
The
Kodak Scholarship Program is for junior, senior and graduate-level students of
cinematography enrolled at colleges and universities offering 4-year degree
programs in motion picture film-making.
Offers
graduate level scholarships for students to study language or conduct research
in Poland.
Offers
four different postgraduate fellowship programs for the study of the history
and culture of German-speaking Jewry.
National Alliance for Excellence
Offers
a variety of merit-based scholarships to high school seniors, undergraduate,
and graduate students.
National Endowment for the Humanities
Offers
fellowships and summer stipends for individuals to pursue advanced work in the
humanities. Applicants may be faculty or staff members of colleges or
universities, or of primary or secondary schools, and scholars and writers.
Offers
ten fellowships intended to support doctoral dissertation research. Students
must have certification of competence in two foreign languages and must be
either a United States citizens or enrolled in a university in the United
States.
National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts
Graduate
scholarships include, but are not limited to: Acting; Theater; Radio &
Television, Film; Music; Set Design; Costume Design; Lighting Design; Motion
Picture Production; and Playwriting.
Fellowships
are open to scholars, non-academic research professionals, scientists engaged
in the humanities, and creative writers of demonstrated achievement, whose work
will benefit directly from access to the collections at the Humanities and
Social Sciences Library.
Omohundro Institute of Early American History and Culture
Offers
postgraduate fellowships in any area of early American studies.
Smithsonian Center for Latino Initiatives
Supports
excellence in research in the social sciences with graduate student fellowships
in Latino studies.
Native
American Internships are offered to Native American students to pursue
internship projects related to Native American topics and using Native American
resources at the Smithsonian.
Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum
