Achievement Rewards for College Scientist (ARCS)

Offers scholarships to graduate and undergraduate students pursuing the natural sciences, medicine and engineering career fields.

 

American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAAUS)

The AAUS awards scholarships to graduate students engaged in research projects in which diving is/will be used as a principal research tool.

 

American Indian Science & Engineering Society (AISES)

Scholarships are awarded to members of AISES who are American Indian or Alaskan Native college students pursuing academic programs in the engineering, mathematics, medicine, natural resources, or land science fields.

American Museum of Natural History

The Graduate Student Fellowship Program is an educational partnership with selected universities and is dedicated to the training of Ph.D. candidates in those scientific disciplines practiced at the Museum.

 

American Nuclear Society

Offers undergraduate scholarships to students who have completed one year in a course of study leading to a degree in nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or a nuclear-related field.

 

American Philosophical Society

Offers short-term fellowships for studies in the humanities and social sciences. The Porter Physiology Fellowships/Scholarships are awarded to minority graduate students working on their doctoral degree in the physiological sciences.

 

American Physical Society

Offers Congressional Postgraduate Science Fellowships to society members who will assist members of Congress in understanding the technical and scientific issues of global warming, energy policy, defense technologies, AIDS, pollution, communications technologies, and more. Offers special awards for APS members who are on the faculty in physics (and closely related) departments and to those who have made significant and innovative contributions in the application of physics to science and technology.

 

American Physiological Society, The

Offers several different awards and fellowships to those pursuing doctoral degrees in the physiological and biomedical sciences. Special programs are designed for physiology educators, minorities, and women.

 

American Planning Association

Awards scholarships to students pursuing careers in the environmental sciences, public administration, transportation, or urban studies and awards fellowships for community development studies. Also has a minority scholarship program.

 

American Society for Microbiology

Offers fellowships to minority students to pursue careers or advanced degrees in the microbiological sciences. Offers a summer research program limited to undergraduates studying microbiology or biology.

 

American Society of Agricultural Engineers

Offers fellowships to encourage students to pursue careers or advanced degrees in the microbiological sciences by providing an opportunity to participate in a research project at their institution and to gain experience in presenting the results of their research.

 

American Society of Safety Engineers

Offers scholarships for women pursuing a post-baccalaureate education in safety engineering, safety management, occupational health nursing, occupational medicine, risk management, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, fire safety, environmental safety, environmental health or other safety related fields.

 

Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship & Excellence in Education Foundation

Offers scholarships to students pursuing careers as scientists, mathematicians, and engineers.

 

Bedding Plant Foundation

Offers undergraduate scholarships to student pursuing careers in floriculture or horticulture.

 

Brown & Caldwell Environmental Engineers

Offers scholarships for students pursuing civil engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or one of the environmental sciences.

 

Dumbarton Oaks

Awards postgraduate fellowships in byzantine studies, landscape architecture, and pre-columbia studies.

 

Entomological Society of America

Offers undergraduate scholarships for students that have completed at least one course in entomology or a project in entomology and plan careers in entomology, zoology, biology, or a related science.

 

Environmental Leadership Program

Offers fellowships designed to nurture a new generation of environmental leadership through unique networking opportunities, intensive leadership and skills training, mentoring, effective communications, and innovative thinking.

 

Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute
